1973, Mann Theatres acquired the Chinese Theatre - one of the most
famous moviehouses in the world. Instantly, the Chinese became Mann's
flagship, and a living symbol of the circuit's commitment to the
past and future of the movie medium. To understand the unique symbiosis
between Mann and the Chinese, it is necessary to go back into the
past some 70 years, when a pioneering exhibition visionary decided
to create the ultimate viewing space.
